How to improve preparedness to oil spills The seminar provided the first opportunity to reveal the results of a comprehensive and unique risk analysis of shipping accidents and pollution in the Baltic Sea.

How will the future ships be built?

The four coastal municipalities of Blekinge conduct an oil spill exercise to verify the joint oil contingency plan which has been developed in the Baltic Master II project.

One of the messages stated the first day that several speakers agreed on was that we need to drill for oil in new places in order to cover our need for energy but we need to do our utmost in order to reduce the risks and that was what the whole conference was all about – the three days were packed with interesting presentation on related subjects.

Results of the Baltic Master II have been presented at the exhibition organised during International Transport Week 2011 which was held in the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdansk on the 1st-3rd March 2011.
