
On 24 October the project proposal for Baltic Master II was approved by the Monitoring Committee of the Baltic Sea Region Programme. Thereby a continuation of its successfull predecessor, Baltic Master, can be started.
Baltic Master II will officially start on 25 January and run for three years. A project secretariat has already been established at Region Blekinge who also is the lead partner of the project.
Baltic Master II consists of 48 partners from 9 different countries around the Baltic Sea. The total budget of the project is approximately 4 million euros.
Baltic Master started in July 2005 and finished in December 2007. Due to the successful work and achievements of the project a continuation was initiated in the end of 2007. During the winter and spring of 2008 a preparatory study for Baltic Master II was carried out and came to an end on 30 May when the project application was handed in to the Interreg Joint Technical Secretariat in Rostock.
