Seminar on Ballast Water and Sediment Management

2010-03-17 | Gdynia, Poland on the 17-18th March 2010. The seminar is organised and hosted by Port of Gdynia Authority S.A.- partner of the Baltic Master II project.

Purpose

One of tasks within Work Package 4 (Enhanced prevention of pollution from maritime transport) of the Baltic Master II project  relates to the issues of implemention of the Ballast Water and Sediments Convention (BWM Convention) and measures of ballast water treatement.

The seminar will discuss BWM Convention, future obligations for ports, maritime administration and ship owners. The main aim of the seminar is to show the ballast water treatment procedures and current situation of ballast water and sediments treatment in the Baltic Sea Region, together with ideas of practical solutions.

 

Participants

The seminar is directed towards ports, maritime administration, representatives  of ministries, regions and municipalities, research centres, universities. All Baltic Master II partners are welecomed to participate.
